This conference follows from a series of seven earlier conferences that pursued the same theme. The theme is to extract scientific methodology from the epistemology of the Tawhidi worldview (oneness of the divine law) and examine its integrated (unified) nature of application in diverse issues. In this light, the economy, finance, science and society are found to exist in organic symbiosis. Within such an interdisciplinary domain is located the holistic scientific methodology that is derived from the epistemology of knowledge (Tawhid). It is then made to address the unified interdisciplinary problems that arise in the world-system. The criterion for such a conjoint evaluation is the objective function called the Wellbeing Function. WF is subjected to conceptual, empirical, policy and strategic evaluation in the context of institutional and systemic interaction. Such interactions are studied by using the mathematical system of circular causation. These are technical issues connected with the theme of Tawhidi methodology of unity of knowledge and its functional application to all problems of the world-system.

The principal objective of the eighth international conference will be to discourse on the theory and application of the methodology of Tawhid as unity of knowledge in generating a holistic social, economic and financial environment for poverty alleviation. The specific area to be focused on will be the institution of microenterprise for poverty alleviation. Thus a vast range of areas and themes will be considered for presentation. The nature of the papers can be scholarly, conceptual and applied coming from academics and practitioners.
